Historic Children’s Program (ages 6 to 11)
From work to active play, this week-long day camp gives kids the experience of pioneer life in the Ukrainian bloc settlement of east-central Alberta in the 1920s. Wearing historic costumes, kids will experience life in a one-room school, learn to cook traditional foods, do chores, help with gardening and have the opportunity to develop their imagination and creativity while exploring nature!
Junior Interpreter’s Program (ages 12 to 16)
Junior Interpreters will explore the 1920’s as real life characters on farms, town business’ and residences. Alongside professional interpreters they will depict the actual youth who lived and worked in buildings at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Participants will learn about the history and every-day life of Ukrainian-Canadian settlers in the 1920’s and be exposed to opportunities of working in a museum setting.
