The Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society is hiring summer staff for programming and food and retail services at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Historic Interpreters/Role Players

FOUVS is hiring summer staff to provide interpretation services for the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. As part of a dynamic team, interpreters are responsible for providing exceptional visitor experiences on the front-lines of this unique living history open-air museum. Wearing a historical costume, interpreters deliver interpretive and education programs to the public and school groups and contribute to the authentic presentation of the UCHV. Interpreters use their dramatic flair and excellent communication skills to engage visitors with the history, cultural beliefs and traditions of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta to 1930. Interpreters ensure that visitors’ experiences at the site are both educational and entertaining.

Historic Children’s and Junior Interpreter Program Guides

Are you outgoing? Enjoy working with children? Interested in history and culture? As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional experiences for children and youth who have registered in summer week-long day-camp programs at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village – a unique living history open-air museum. Wearing a historical costume, you will deliver interpretive and lively summer programs to children and youth that reflects the lived experience of children and youth. You will use your energetic talents to engage children with appropriate activities rich in the history, cultural beliefs and traditions of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta from 1892 to 1930.

Special Events Coordinator

Working with a dynamic team, you will provide exceptional visitor service and special event and public programming on the frontlines of this unique living history open-air museum!

The Special Events Coordinator effectively contributes to the success of the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society (FOUVS) and the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village (UCHV) by actively participating in the development and implementation of Village programs and special events for the public. A key component is coordinating volunteers.

Communication’s Coordinator

Are you outgoing? Interested in communications including print and social media? Interested in history and culture? As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for updating the website, producing newsletters and other print media and establishing a presence FOUVS at various festivals and events.
You will use your creative talents to engage the general public in the history, cultural beliefs and traditions of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta from 1892 to 1930.

Retail Service Staff – Retail Service Coordinator, Retail Service Clerk,

Are you outgoing? Do you enjoy providing quality service to the public? Are you interested in history and culture? Working with a dynamic team, you will provide exceptional retail service on the frontlines of this unique living history open-air museum!

Food Service Staff
The Friends operate the Kalyna Food Concession, Sweets & Treats, and the Kalyna Summer Kitchen and Food Court during on event days at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. We are hiring nine staff to operate all food services from April 30 to September 9 2018.

Food Service Coordinator

Working with a dynamic team, you will provide organizational and administrative support for all food service operations of this unique living history open-air museum!

Cooks
